APA bug

Postby petew83 » Fri Jul 11, 2008 10:51 pm

When the sound contains high C (instead of middle C), APA marks it as wrong if u I 'yes'. I'm on 17th Ave.

apa bug

yeah pete i noticed that too
also i got to 101st ave and no other pitches became available.
I thought they were available at 99th ave.
are the clues supposed to be only chords up to 99th ave Chris because that was what the majority of sounds were.
other than that I think the game is really cool. you don't seem to get punished as badly as in APB.

I'll double-check the 101st ave thing and find out why the pitches aren't becoming available.

The upper-octave bug was found n' fixed.

After 99th you should start hearing arpeggiated chords.

Pitch-availability bug found and fixed. However, I'm currently rewriting Note Boat, so if I sent you the APA update you'd get a broken Note Boat.

I hope to have the Note Boat update done today, though; all I'm changing is the manner of input (direct keyboard typing instead of drag-n-drop).

Another minor bug. I got to level 100 on C, and then checked the random pitches option, and I got a "class OutOfBounds" error. It seems that the game chooses the pitches randomly, but if only the C has been played it doesn't know what pitch to choose besides the C. I played one game of D, and the error went away.

Oh, good point.. it doesn't include a pitch in the random game unless you have played with that pitch at least once. I forgot to write a double-check to make sure that at least one other pitch had been played. I'll do that.

Hi Chris

Just a few minutes ago I had the following strange "score"(I wanted to post a screenshot, but I can't find out how to do this since the image is on my computer and not on the internet):

Pitch: G, 60th Rd
Score: 14580
Tries: 1
Chicks: 8

Usually I don't pay much attention on this but at this time only 5 chicks had crossed the road. And there are just 6 chicks anyway.

I think this bug doesn't influence gameplay but you never know...

cheers
Andi

That's not a bug, it's a feature!

Heh. No, seriously, it is. If you get all six chix across the road, you move on to the next level. If you don't get all of them across, the game keeps track of how many you have gotten across from game to game so that, even if you don't get all of them across in a single game, by getting 25 of them across the road (total) you will still advance a level.

Ah, thank you!
This implies that so far I’ve been playing too well to recognize this „feature“
cheers,
Andi
