Color opposites have opposite associations

Postby RockofStrength » Wed Sep 22, 2010 11:12 pm

Opposite colors seem to have opposite associations.

Orange happy, blue sad

Red vibrant, green mellow

Yellow bright, purple dark

However, white and black both have a feeling of 'emptiness'.

Comparing this to pitch, I would say flat keys are more mellow than sharp ones. It's hard to compare, since pitch doesn't really have an "opposite" pitch, and there are no really good ways to describe it. If I had to try to compare it, though, I would say the key at the other end of the circle of fifths would kinda be opposite, though, e.g. C major and Gb minor
