Oh! It just now occurred to me to ask... has anyone else here been following this little squabble? It's made the last few months a bit more interesting, I'd say...

The insanity of that discussion actually makes me wonder why no one with an opinion (or hypothesis) actually conducts a rigorous study of whether adults can learn AP. Maybe it's enough for most scientists to settle on "they don't."

When you're at that university, could you suggest or carry out an experiment using your software or any other method? That would at least introduce some control. "If AP could be learned by adults, this is how..." And it would control for how often people play ETC -- many (most?) people don't play ETC every day for an extended period of time.

Who knows, you might find it fascinating to design an experiment; even if you don't get the resources to carry it out, someone else might.
